ONLINE PERSONAL TRAINING, UK-WIDE

Online Personal Training for Busy Professionals

Remote coaching for people whose diaries do not fit a gym timetable. A programme written for you, reviewed every week, wherever in the UK you train.

THE PROBLEM

The Programme Is Not The Hard Part

Most people who come to online coaching have already tried the free stuff. An app that generated a plan from three questions. A spreadsheet from a friend who lifts. A YouTube programme built for someone with different joints, a different job, and eight more hours a week.

The plan was rarely the problem. What was missing was someone who adjusted it when your week fell apart, who noticed your technique drifting before it became an injury, and who expected to hear from you on Thursday.

That is the part that does not survive being written down. It has to be delivered by a person, week after week. Online coaching is how I do that for people I cannot meet in a gym.

HOW IT WORKS

How Online Personal Training Works

The honest version, start to finish. No app trial, no automated plan generator.

  1. A consultation call, before anything is written

We start with a free consultation call. I ask about your training history, your injuries, your job, how your week actually runs, and what you want to be able to do in six months. Nothing gets written until I understand all of that. If online coaching is not right for you, I will say so on the call.

  2. Onboarding, then a programme built for you

A detailed onboarding questionnaire and a 60-minute video consultation come next. From those I write a programme specifically for you, built around the equipment you actually have access to, whether that is a full commercial gym, a hotel room, or a set of dumbbells at home.

  3. Weekly check-ins and video form reviews

Every week we review progress together. You send video of your working sets and I give technique feedback on them, which is the part most online coaching skips. Between check-ins you have direct WhatsApp access to me six days a week for the questions that come up mid-session.

  4. The programme changes every four weeks

Every four weeks the programme is rewritten based on what actually moved: your strength numbers, your body composition, your energy, how you are recovering. A plan that never changes is a plan nobody is reading.

CHOOSING A FORMAT

Online vs In-Person Personal Training

Neither is better in the abstract. They suit different lives, and the honest answer depends on yours.

The question is usually framed as which one works. Both work. The real question is which one you will still be doing in six months, and that comes down to your schedule, your travel, and how much you need someone physically present to keep your technique honest.

Online personal training compared with in-person personal training
  Online coaching In-person training
Best suited to Travel, shift work, unpredictable diaries, training outside London A fixed weekly routine and a commute that allows it
Coaching contact Weekly check-in, video form review, messaging six days a week Hands-on coaching for the whole of every session
Technique correction Reviewed from video, between sessions Corrected in the moment, mid-rep
Equipment Built around whatever you have access to A fully equipped facility
Scheduling Train whenever your week allows Booked slots, agreed in advance
Accountability A weekly review you have to show up for Someone waiting for you at a set time
Where it struggles Needs you to log honestly and film sets Falls apart when you travel or work late
Investment Agreed on your free consultation call From £55 per session

If your week is genuinely unpredictable, online coaching is not the compromise option. Fixed appointments are what break first when work runs over, and a programme you can move to Thursday is worth more than one you keep missing on Tuesday.

WHO IT SUITS

Remote Fitness Coaching for Busy Professionals

The people this works best for have a few things in common.

You travel for work

Your gym changes every few weeks and so does your time zone. A programme that assumes the same rack every Monday was never going to survive your calendar. This one is built to move with you.

You live outside London

You want coaching of a standard you have not found locally, and you would rather work with someone properly than settle for whoever is nearest. Distance stops being the deciding factor.

You already have a gym

You are happy where you train and have no interest in moving. You do not need a facility. You need someone to tell you what to do in the one you already pay for.

Your hours are unpredictable

Some weeks you get four sessions, some weeks you get one. You need a plan that flexes around that without falling apart, and someone who adjusts it rather than sending the same thing again.

WHO YOU WOULD BE WORKING WITH

Coaching, Not Content

I am Bobby. I hold an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, an Ofqual regulated qualification, and I work as an online fitness coach for professionals across the UK alongside coaching in person in London.

What I am not is a content business. There is no course, no template pack, no funnel. Online coaching for me is the same job as standing next to you in a gym, done through a screen, with the same expectation that I know what you did last week and why it changed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Online Personal Training Questions

How does online personal training work?

It starts with a free consultation call, then a detailed onboarding questionnaire and a 60-minute video consultation. From those I write a programme built specifically for you and the equipment you can actually get to. Every week we review progress together and you send video of your working sets so I can give technique feedback. Between check-ins you have direct WhatsApp access to me six days a week, and the programme is rewritten every four weeks based on what has actually moved. It is ongoing coaching, not a plan you download once.

Is online personal training as effective as in-person?

For the right person, yes, and for some people it is more effective. In-person wins on one thing: technique corrected in the moment, mid-rep. Online wins on consistency, because the programme moves with your week instead of collapsing when work runs over or you are away. If your diary is genuinely unpredictable, the plan you can actually follow beats the one you keep missing. If you are brand new to lifting and want hands-on coaching from the first session, in-person is the better starting point and I will say so.

Do I need a gym membership for online coaching?

No. The programme is built around whatever you have access to. That might be a full commercial gym, a small hotel gym while you travel, or a set of dumbbells and a bench at home. Tell me what you can get to on the consultation call and the programme is written for that, not for an ideal setup you do not have.

How do you check my technique if you are not in the room?

You film your working sets on the lifts that matter and send them through. I review the footage and come back with specific feedback, which is genuinely more useful than it sounds: video can be watched back frame by frame, slowed down, and compared week to week, which is not possible when I am watching live. It is not a substitute for hands-on coaching on day one of a new lift, but for anyone with some training history it works well.

Can you coach me if I live outside London?

Yes. Online coaching is delivered remotely, so where you live makes no difference to the programme or the support. I coach professionals across the UK this way. The only thing you would miss is the in-person sessions, which are London-based, and plenty of clients never need those.

What should I look for in an online fitness coach?

Four things, and you can check all of them before you pay anything. A recognised qualification, so ask which one and who regulates it. A programme written after they have spoken to you, not generated from a form. Actual technique feedback on video of your lifts, because a coach who never watches you train is selling you a spreadsheet. And a real conversation before you commit, rather than a checkout page. If a coach will not get on a call with you first, that tells you what the rest of the service will feel like.

How much does online coaching cost?

Pricing depends on the programme length and how much support you want, so it is agreed on the free consultation call rather than published as a fixed package. The call itself costs nothing and carries no obligation. If what I charge does not suit your budget, you will find that out in a conversation rather than after signing up for something.
